Don Diablo just teamed up with rising artist MONO|CHROME to drop a modern reinterpretation of the Depeche Mode classic, “Enjoy The Silence,” in EDM style.
You can tell this track hits different, blending Don Diablo’s epic, cinematic sound with MONO|CHROME’s clean arrangements. Clearly, it’s a dope bridge connecting old-school electronic music roots with where the sound is heading next. Below is the performance video from Amsterdam.

For Don Diablo, this is just another way he’s connecting art and music into one seriously visionary universe. And it sounds as good as his recent remake of Fleetwood Mac‘s “Little Lies.”
What Is Enjoy the Silence About
The core context of Depeche Mode‘s “Enjoy the Silence” is basically a masterclass in realizing that silence is superior and unnecessary talking is a mistake. This amazing tune argues that when you hit that sweet spot of true connection and peace, talking is just extra and can mess up the vibe.
Moreover, it’s all about being fully present and appreciating what you already have (“All I ever wanted… is here”), letting those genuine, unspoken feelings do all the heavy lifting.
Simply put, the whole point is celebrating those simple moments where shutting up says absolutely everything.
When Did Enjoy the Silence Come Out
Depeche Mode dropped “Enjoy the Silence” as a single on February 5, 1990. It was the second single from their massively successful album, ‘Violator.’ As a matter of fact, it kicked off the new decade with an absolute Synthpop classic that still slaps today with tons of remixes and outstanding new versions like the one Don Diablo just released.
Both Versions Hit Different
If you’re into that futuristic, cutting-edge touch that only Don Diablo knows how to cook up in his studio, then I’m sure you’ll share it and have it on repeat. On the flip side, if you’re more about the original version, that’s totally valid too, because Depeche Mode are straight-up legends and their gems shine exactly as they are.
In my opinion, I’m keeping both in rotation because you gotta have an open mind to accept that musical innovation is creativity at its peak.
