Disintegration C.E.’s “Manbox” Is More Than A Tech House Beat

Sometimes a banger drops, and you know immediately it’s different. Denver producer Eric Robertson, aka Disintegration C.E., has delivered exactly that with “Manbox,” a catchy jam with a Tech House beat that’ll get your body moving while making you question toxic masculinity.

It’s soulful and deep with this classic vibe that immediately hits right  (that’s just talking about the sound itself). Plus, the vocal samples pack enough substance around manhood and emotion, just like the artist explained in his recent interview on Electro Wow.

On top of that, he knows how to balance that signature housey groove with something much more emotionally resonant. In other words, it’s the kind of production that works equally well at 2 AM in a sweaty basement club or during a late-night introspective listen at home.

The Message: Breaking Down Walls

Believe it or not, this great tune came from Robertson reflecting on his kid’s future – worrying about the challenges his 11-year-old will face while trying to figure out his own ideas about what it means to be a man in today’s world.

Certainly, it’s rare to find electronic music tackling masculinity with this level of nuance, especially in a genre that often prioritizes pure hedonism over deeper themes.

All of this makes it an extra special release. Finding his artistic inspiration in his role as a father and expressing it through a Tech House beat is pure originality. It’s also taking a creative risk to do something different, and the result turned out melodically powerful in my opinion.

Manbox

Authenticity in Tech House

“Manbox” will appear on Robertson’s upcoming album ‘Honeycomb,’ due end of September. The project explores his idea of rhythms as a lattice holding the sweet syrup of melody.

In essence, this isn’t just another cut designed to fill dancefloors (though it absolutely will). It’s proof that electronic music can carry weight, spark conversations, and make the clubbers think about stuff that matters.

Authenticity often gets sacrificed for algorithmic success. And “Manbox” stands as a refreshing reminder that the best songs come from real places. Available now on all digital streaming platforms.
